Star Studded SEC Piles up Top Recruits: The Rich Get Richer

The nation’s top recruit, Robert Nkemdiche signed on February 6th to play at Ole Miss. Nkemdiche had originally committed early to Clemson, but then decommitted and decided to play with his brother at Ole Miss.  Ole Miss didn’t appear to be at the top of his list early on, but as the end neared, they showed to be the front-runner above the Clemson Tigers, and Nick Sabans Alabama Crimson Tide. The Tide didn’t fail under the spotlight of National Signing Day either, landing many of the top recruits in the country and claiming the number one spot in the top recruiting classes of 2013. Six of Alabama’s newest recruits are 5 star recruits and after a little bit of practice, should shape up to be stars in the SEC. Saban’s Tide have won the recruiting carousel once again and should be battling for another national title come fall. With recent 2012 recruits Amari Cooper and T.J. Yeldon combining with the new recruits of the 2013 class, a dynasty could be created in Tuscaloosa.

Urban Meyer

Some of the other top classes include the bowl banned Ohio State buckeyes. It seems Urban Meyer has started what he left when he chose to end his coaching at Florida. Lately the same schools have kept on getting great recruits to keep their programs rolling. Some of the other programs such as Notre Dame, Florida, and Michigan round out the top five recruiting classes in the country. It is not a surprise that the SEC has most of the nation’s top recruiting classes with Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss, LSU, and Texas A&M all in among the top ten recruiting classes in the Country.
